When hearts flow with love...
Hello.
Today I am feeling the importance of making time to sit in a place of gratitude and love. There is an opportunity to part the seas and be in a beautiful place. This awareness, intention and action enhances a day and can change the trajectory of a life.
It’s easy for me to get sucked into the quicksand of worry and fear. And I literally take pauses throughout the day to breathe, to look up, look out and to connect with whomever is nearest.
A few weeks ago, I had dropped Dan, my husband, at the airport and then left our older dog at the vet for some serious tests. I went to the grocery store and wandered around lost.
When I was checking out, the cashier told me jokes. Silly grade school jokes. And I laughed out loud for the first time in days.
When hard news came about our beloved dog Lily, the vet was kind and took extra time with me when she called.
Our family has time to process the hard news. We were able to take our Lily to the beach and our now grown sons met us there. We each had time to sit with her, to love her and to feel her love for us.
I watched Dan toss a stick a few feet into an incoming wave so it would tap Lily’s front legs and she could grab it. For more than ten years, he has thrown a stick as far as he could into oncoming waves and Lily has charged through them to retrieve it. Again and again and again. This time we cheered her success and she pranced triumphantly, but she couldn’t see.
And yet we could. When looking at the end of life, it can reveal what is always there— life is precious, miraculous, and worth celebrating.
As I sit with our sweet Lily, I tell her stories of love and thank her for all she has given us. She rests her head on my lap and I feel her love.
The rising sun found its way through a window and shone on us and I felt a Divine love holding both of us in Peace and Joy for the love lived and the love shared.
May you welcome Peace and Joy into your life.
Warmly,
Kat~
